Antidepressants not working anymore, what to do?

Does anyone else go through antidepressants? Like, they just stop working for you after a certain point? I've been on lexapro for the last year and after having been on the highest dosage for a while, I've noticed my concentration with school and my time management abilities has waned a bit compared to the last semester when I made the dean's list. I'm thinking it's either this or my adhd meds. What do you do when that happens? Do you switch it up? Or is it something else?

I've had to go through this for the last 25 yrs. I took Lexapro for 7 yrs, it was the one that I had the longest success with. (I'm currently on Celexa for the last 2 yrs) At this point, when Celexa stops doing it's job, my doctor and I are in agreement that I will have to do genetic testing. It's hard to get approved but I've exhausted my options at this point and my doctor says she's always had success in getting approval for the cases that have required it.

That's crazy! Please let me know how it goes. Does your doctor know what it could potentially be?

Same. I done tried at least 4 different SSRI's and im not sure one medication can treat both my severe depression and my anxiety. Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Wellbutrin XL, i liked wellbutrin but i dont think it was a good standalone medication for me. It was great for getting me motivated but my anxiety was left untreated. Im on Paxil 40mg now and I like it. I notice a big difference between me at this dose, me at lower doses and me with no medication at all. I would like to increase my dose to see better results. I may only need this one medication if it can be a little stronger in my system.

I've been on Sertraline since I was 13 (now 22) the last couple of years it's felt like it's not working as well anymore. My moods are unstable and my OCD is worse. Recently I've increased the dose by 25mg.

Yeah I can relate it's weird bc it can work one day and then stop working for days. Maybe I was just having a bad week
