Seeking Insight on Arthritis Symptoms

Anyone in there mid thirties with arthritis? About 3 years ago I had some real bad flares and thought I had RA. Started seeing a Rheumatologist but nothing was diagnosed. That few years have been symptom free. But currently my hands and knuckles are in a lot of pain. No swelling but terrible pain. Like it was 3 years ago. Just looking for someone to discuss further with and gain insight from.

Yes your situation and mine are quite similar. I started having “flare ups” around 34 but nothing was ever shown from tests. I just turned 39 and finally have been diagnosed in the past month after a series of blood tests now showing signs. My hands as well as other areas (back, hip, etc.) were causing pain sometimes. My doctor order for an X-ray showed nothing but the blood test detected it.

So if I can ask how are they approaching it now that you have a diagnosis?

Well from someone who has been on many medications side effects are most often only temporary, so hang in there. Hope it works well for you. I think with Methotrexate you can’t drink alcohol because it primarily metabolizes through your liver but I could be wrong.

Mine started 2 years ago with very little inflammation. I have seronegative RA which means it didn't show up in blood work, but where it did show up for diagnosis was in my ultrasound. RA autoimmune joint damage shows up as erosion vs the well known arthritis osteoarthritis shows up as degeneration
