Need Help with Calorie Deficit and Binge Eating

I need to go on a calorie deficit to lose weight and take some strain off of my joints (hypermobile) but I have no idea how to safely do so. I've been doing well as of late with my binge eating but I'm worried I'm going to start a binge/purge/restrict cycle if I start paying attention to calories. does anyone have tips or insight? I don't even know where to turn. ÷(

Did the doctor specifically recommend you do this? If not I wouldn't do anything until you get a recommendation.

yes, thank you for the concern. I've been needing to for a while now but I had other health issues to focus on getting under control first.

Have you consulted a dietician? That sounds like a good place to start if you’re able! I have no idea what I’m doing either, but I’m seeing a dietician in two weeks and in the meantime am seeing a therapist to help bread the binge/restrict cycle. I hope things work out, best of luck <3
