This is a very good question! Thank you for asking it. I’ve recently looked into this because I had a horrible experience with a therapist, and went to Reddit to see what knowledge is out there about it. Unfortunately, my assessment is that the regulatory bodies are severely biased towards therapists, and it’s rate that a patient/client gets a good outcome from a complaint. The subreddits are r/TherapyAbuse and r/TalkTherapy It also depends on your state, and maybe even county, if you’re in the US. It’s definitely worth looking into, and Reddit it’s a good place to find useful information from both the therapist and the client side. I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes for you.
