Dealing with Nightmares: My Struggle

My nightmares have been going on for 2 months now. I’ll feel okay and then I won’t. I feel unbalanced again. On a happier note though I did get a Kirby game for my switch

Well before this week it was death, then it was of my cousin being very angry with me (he’s not angry with me in real life), and then my latest nightmare was of me feeling even more anxious and it manifesting itself as a creepy vibe dream. Like it was getting more scared until I woke up

It sounds as though you may have some general anxieties manifesting into your thoughts while you’re sleeping. This used to happen to me when I wasn’t sleeping deep enough. Whenever I was in a light sleep, I would have dreams about dying and scary things. I would say maybe try putting electronics away 30 minutes before you go to sleep and try reading or if you don’t like reading (like me 🙃) maybe try coloring in a coloring book for a while. If you absolutely can’t put technology away, try getting some blue light glasses to calm your brain down before you sleep. If none of this helps you could think about trying some low dose melatonin. Also, something that has always helped me is keeping a little journal and pencil beside my bed. If you’re trying to fall asleep but have stresses or thoughts you can’t get away from, write them down. Put them in your journal and forget about them until the next day. Then when you wake up, look at the notes and see if there is anything important you need to do/talk about to someone.

Sounds like me. I have a glass of wine after I get in bed. Put me out.
