Dealing with Weather Anxiety

We've got severe weather coming into my area. I'm going to have to have my Klonopin on hand because the last time we had severe weather, I forgot where it was and had 4 panic attacks within a 4 hour period I know it's childish to be scared during storms, but it makes me feel unsafe, and everything gets too loud

Totally unrelated but my husband just asked for a divorce after 12 years of being together and this is the only thing that's keeping me functioning. How long can you take it for without side effects/getting addicted?

it entirely depends on who's taking it. Because Klonopin stays in the body longer than Xanax or other benzos, you don't need to take it as often, and it's widely considered the safest benzo. You'll need to communicate with your psychiatrist for you two to make the safest decision. If you're worried about getting addicted, you could try taking hydroxyzine I've been taking Klonopin for 6 months now and I'm not having any addiction problems. It does, however, make me drool an awful amount, but that's just in the hours after taking it, it isn't permanent. I dose in smaller amounts to avoid possible addiction by taking a half a pill, then another half later if I need to. It's a really great drug, and as long as you're practicing mindfulness and safety and communicating with your doctor, things will likely be perfectly fine

It's not childish, it's a natural reaction. I'm sorry you are going through this love, I hope you stay safe and I will keep you in my prayers. 💕

thank you so much 🧡 I got through it, luckily. I had one of my caretakers guide me to take my meds and I managed to relax through it all

The current weather in my area has me feeling extremely anxious too. You aren't alone. I'm embarrassed since I get easily startled during thunderstorms and people around me think I'm purposely overreacting when I'm not. Hope you were able to get through everything and that you're doing okay now.
