Exercising with Vertigo: Tips and Tricks

I have vertigo and a condition that wasn't listed called PPPD. Both make it hard to exercise. How do my fellow dizzy people exercise without feeling debilitated for days? I'm open to anything.

Can you help? Connect today

Hi! I think it depends on what exercises you do. I suggest starting with a physical therapist to show you how to work out properly to prevent getting dizzy.

I also have pppd. I work out but am conscious to do things that don’t cause my head to move much. Sounds silly but it helps. I do legs and glutes on a mat with ankle weights for example. I hope this helps

I'm in the middle of a bad episode and haven't exercised all week. I do pilates and do leg and arm and core work, but added weights. Really not in the mood to lie back and have a 10lbs weight smashing into my face😂 I just added some floor work like stomach crunches and donkey kicks. I've been exercising regularly since Covid so hopefully my muscles won't atrophy too much. Taking a shower and looking down at my feet or leaning my head back to gargle was a challenge today. Fun times! Right now heading to the ENT to see of fluid on ears or a virus (feel crappy, too) is the cause. Normally I tolerate it, but not when it heightens and my eyes won't focus...😵‍💫 Livin' the dream! As a coworker used to say.😂
