Family History of Hoarding: Is it Inherited?

Does your Hoarding seem to come from a family history of it? My mother, maternal uncle, both maternal grandparents, and a paternal aunt all have it, too.

Me too. Both my parents. Not sure about their parents or family as I didn't know them. But I feel like if you grow up with it, it becomes easier to slip into as a coping mechanism. No matter how hard to try to not collect or clean up, it never works. Very hard to fight nature and/or nurture.

For me I think it was started working in a charity shop. The amount of good Reusable stuff they throw in the bin is horrendous. I hate this throw away nation we live in. I'm very frugal and reuse/recycle almost everything. My daughter is a minimalist and throws in the bin brand name clothes and many items new or used a few times 😭 she just won't take it to charity or give it away😭
