Positive Stool Test Result - Endoscopy & Colonoscopy Anxiety

Got a stool test done which came back positive for some kind of protein I guess.. now I have to have an endoscopy & colonoscopy. We discussed the endoscopy but the colonoscopy is something we didn’t discuss. Of course it has me a bit nervous because I got a positive test but had anyone gotten a positive result and it ended up being nothing??

Can you help? Connect today

I have had blood twice but by the time they went in it was fine. I don't know about positives. What I will say is the worst part of a colonoscopy is the before. When they prescribe the prep I would recommend you ask they prescribe nausea medication.

✋I wouldn’t worry to much. I’ve worked in a endoscopy/colonoscopy place and it’s true that the prep before is the part that sucks. I recommend wet wipes bed side you go to the bathroom a ton. But you will be given fentanyl and versed usually which will make you have no pain and no real memory of the event.

I’ve had several positive tests that have ended up being nothing, it’s totally possible! But do be aware of what it could be and be prepared just in case. Good luck!! Colonoscopies aren’t fun but not horrible, endoscopies are easy!

I'm so sorry you had a positive test. But, at least you now know what it is & can do something for it. Plus, you can do what I do... Both tests at the same time & call it a 'shist-kabob'! 😉🙏🏽
