Need help with gut flora imbalance

What kind of doctor will help with the flora in your intestines. I talked to my PC and my digestive disease doctor and both have indicated they don’t work with that. So I have tests that show my flora is way off (high bad bacteria and low good bacteria) and so far no one can help me fix that. My diet is good but I think I need some kind of other intervention.

OMG!!!! I’m going through the EXACT same thing right now! WOW!! I have an appt w/my GP tmrw & plan to mention it. Although, I’m sure she’s going to defer to a GI’s recommendation (& rightfully so). I’ve done extensive research and truly believe that a Fecal Transplant (as close to the appendix as possible) would make ALL the difference! I’ll keep you posted if I find out someone who does this procedure.

A gastroenterologist, especially one who works with SIBO.

If you do have SIBO from what it sounds like you are describing, an antibiotic course of Rifaximin and/or neomycin (additionally needed for methane SIBO) will usually do the trick for at least some time. Also, key is to keep your gut motility running smoothly using pro-kinetic agents (natural ones work such as ginger tea), mild to moderate aerobic exercise and avoiding sugar (particularly sucrose) a all costs.

I believe MonstouslyWitty is correct — SIBO! Be forewarned, it can be recurring.
