Managing PCOS symptoms: seeking advice

Hello! I am 20 years old and have been unofficially diagnosed with PCOS. When I was 16 I didn’t get a period for 7 months and my doctor told me I have all of the symptoms of PCOS. I was put on the pill and now I am on the nuvaring. How do you manage your symptoms?

When I was diagnosed with PCOS my doctor put me on contraceptive pills which I’m still taking. It helped me with the irregular and heavy periods, acne, excessive hair growth and difficulty losing weight

My story is quite the same. I was diagnosed 10 years ago when I was younger than you, and I was advised to be put on the pill. Since then, apart from my pregnancy, I’ve been on the pill.

The pill pumps you with hormones that can actually be bad for certain types of PCOS. I recommend finding a specialist who can take some labs and help you better understand what your specific needs are.
