This is long.. But super exciting for me so I had to share with someone else!
I've always been sick in one way or another. I don't think I've been able to take conditions off my medical list. Ever!
I've made a lot of changes in the last 5 months. Made drastic improvements in my health.
I lost 51 lbs! Weight isn't everything but it has changed my health so much in the little time.
I’ve reversed the fatty liver disease that I was diagnosed with 6+ years ago. It is completely “unremarkable” and there are no signs it had been a big issue. It definitely was, but not anymore!!
In these months I have also had my a1c drop from 6.1% to 5%. No more insulin resistance or prediabetes!
My liver blood tests were 97,116 & 127 when they should only be between 30-39. They are now within range.
I am on a diabetic med at a higher dose so it also helps with weight!
I finally beat the vitamin D deficiency, it is the highest it has been in my entire life! Went from 11.7 to 65.4!! Crazy!! Side note about that.. The prescription D2 50,000iu does not actually increase the vitamin D in your blood. D3 does! So switched from that prescription D2 to 5000iu of D3 daily. And it has done wonders! Better than the potent D2 that I've been prescribed for 15+ years. Dumb doctors need to do a Google search!
Somehow my seborrheic dermatitis & folliculitis have been gone for a long while too!
I can fit into my old clothes! So it's like a new wardrobe!
I got to remove vit D deficiency, prediabetes/insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, seborrheic dermatitis, and folliculitis!!!! Woooooaaahhh!
Also, in the last year, I have gotten off many meds!
I went from:
2 very high-dose antipsychotics to 0
2 mood stabilizers to 1
2 antidepressants to a different and so incredibly much better 2
2 anxiety meds to 1 PRN
3 for sleep to 1 for sleep (not a sleeping med but for PTSD nightmares)
1 stimulant to same 1 & better dose
To add to that I am coming up on 2 years clean and 1 year from all substances.
Sorry this was very long and a big ramble, but I'm so excited and have already shared with the 3 people (parents & therapist) I'm close to.
Turning 31. Never thought I'd make it this far and continue to live, willingly. Cheers to more years!
Thanks for reading :)
