There is a lot of overlap in mood disorders so per doctor can be a little subjective. I have BP2 and BPD. You might have both!

Both therapists I’ve had keep going between saying “you are OBVIOUSLY borderline.” and “Well autism comes with attachment problems so you arent borderline.” even tho I fit the criteria for quiet bpd to a T. IMO you know yourself better than strangers, and if you find your therapists aren’t taking your concerns seriously you should find a new one if possible to seek diagnosis!

personality disorders are really hard to diagnose. you usually need either a full, hours-long psych evaluation, or you have to let your doctor observe your symptoms over time. a lot of symptoms for those disorders can be quite similar too. i do know that it’s super frustrating not knowing exactly what’s going on in your brain, though.

I did so much research on everything (thanks OCD), took the suggestions of psychiatrists (not doctors) and went off of what I thought made the most sense.
