Seeking Advice on Switching Antidepressants

I have been on fluoxetine for years and it's not doing anything anymore so I've been prescribed desvenlafaxine. I'm scared to try a different antidepressant as I've always been on fluoxetine. Does anyone have any experience on desvenlafaxine?

Did you experience weight gain with fluoxetine? Especially after taking it long term?

no. I lost weight when I first started fluoxetine and over the years my weight has stayed the same.

I've been on it over a year and a half now, in combination with Rexulti, and it has been a miracle. For me, those two together have worked better than anything else I've ever tried. It brought and has kept me out of full-blown psychosis. I would recommend trying it.

I was on it for I think 2 to 3 years, kept me stable and numb until it stopped working a few months back cause i got worse, couldn't up my dose cause I was on the highest so changed to fluoxetine. Desvenlafaxine for me was paired with Mirtazapine and they worked wonders. Getting off of it or forgetting to take it for the day is horrible though.
