Transportation with Seizures: Need Help!

How do I transport myself with seizures? I have seizures every week, although I have a bus pass (expensive), the buses are unreliable, and I cannot go anywhere on bank holidays or Sunday, which interrupts my independence and social life. I go to college far away from my house and it can take up to 2 hours to do the journey on buses which is exhausting for me. Taxis are very expensive as well. I have tried applying for a disabled bus pass but have only got a small discount. Are there any services to help me get from place to place directly and quickly? I’m mainly looking for one day a week when I have to be home quick for youth group and also have a busy night so need to take it easy. I am in England.

i don't know the first thing about england but is there no one you can go to to ask for a ride? maybe offer to pay the friend for gas if anything? have you tried searching for shorter routes to take? maybe walk a certain distance to a different stop and it'll make time pass by quicker? i hope one day you get a better cut from a disabled bus pass one day too. much luck to you and take it easy on yourself!!

unfortunately I don’t know anyone near me who takes the same route, I’d pay them for gas but I think people just don’t want to go out of their way. I honestly just wish bus services here were better. Thank you 😊

I live in the US, so I don't know if this applies at all to England, but here my disability insurance has a car service that can bring people places for free, especially if it is medical related.

Check with the bus company sometimes they have a handicap discount or free rate. The one in my city I can use for free. Also try your local medical office and insurance for help.

unfortunately it isn’t the same in England but that sounds amazing. I finally got chance to speak to a really good nurse who had got me a free bus pass though.
