by Alike Medical Team ∙ Updated on June 13, 2023

General

Gray matter heterotopia refers to a group of neurological conditions caused by nodules of neurons that are mislocated. These nodules cause the brain to malfunction, sometimes resulting in epilepsy or recurring seizures. Not everyone have symptoms, and many times these findings are found incidentally.
