Seeking advice on ADHD evaluation process

Does anyone know how you start the process of being evaluated for ADHD? I was told I have too many overlapping symptoms but I really think it would help to at least be evaluated.

Check out psychology today. You can type in your location, insurance, and what you're looking for, and it will find places and people to talk to. Finding a psychiatrist might be a good idea if you're okay with medications.

If you’re looking to get a diagnosis, seek out a psychologist who is familiar with ADHD in adults. You can use psychology today, like the above commenter suggested. I’d also highly recommend the books Driven to Distraction and Delivered from Distraction for resources and validation. It is written by ADHDers, and the author encourages you to jump around in the book and read what is relevant to you. You may be able to find local groups, suggested therapies and mental health professionals, and coping skills for managing without meds for now. Eventually, I hope that you can find the right psychiatrist to help you on your med journey. The right dose of a medication could help give your brain exactly what it needs to function in a way that’s satisfying for you. Best of luck!

Ah thank you guys so much really appreciate the support! I lost my therapist and my current psychiatrist just wants to put me in a residential facility for my depression but I really think getting the right diagnosis and possibly the right meds would be best! Hopefully I can find someone who’s trained and able to confirm for me

I found a nice psychiatrist on teladoc that was able to diagnose me after a good amount of sessions.
