I have had chronic anxiety for 10 years. Last year I couldn’t put it off any longer and had to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth AND a molar that had a failed root canal extracted. I was freaking out. But here is what I can tell you. One, you can absolutely request being fully sedated for this. I obviously had full general anesthesia for mine but you can request it for your procedure. (You may have to go to a different dentist / specialist fyi.) research “sedation dentistry”. Anyway, long story short this was literally the best experience I’ve ever had in terms of a serious procedure being done. I remembered nothing, and felt feet little discomfort in the days following. I couldn’t believe I had stressed over it for so long.

See if your dentist will offer something called “EXPAREL”. It is a non opioid extended release pain management option. They put it into the site of the extraction before suturing it up. I basically didn’t have any pain for the first 24 hrs after the surgery. Then day two it was moderate and on the 3rd day I finally reached for the prescribed narcotic pain meds but only used those for the 3-4th day then was fine. And I had 5 removed!
