After my very traumatic breakup a few years ago I had to really push myself to not self isolate. All I wanted to do was sit at home alone. However I made plans with my friends at least three times a week to make sure I was having positive social interaction. A big part of BPD for me has been “turning into my partner” and losing myself to try and become the perfect person for them. Being single for an extended period of time was difficult for me however I really learned to be me without any expectations from any other people (except maybe my therapists).

I can relate. I’m trying to separate what was really me and what was a front I put on for my partner.
