Depends what medicine and what you are using it for.

Alternative medicine doesn't work, if you mean stuff like that thing where they put cyanide in water then dilute it to where there's practically nothing left in it. If you mean stuff like supplements, things that have actual impacts on your body and your brain, it depends. I've done lots of research into that stuff. What are you looking to treat? For ADHD, l tyrosine is an easy choice. If you're looking to treat your anxiety, ashwaghanda and l theanine are good. Reply back and I can help

Recurring thoughts, like in ocd, is treated with n-acetyl cystine. Aka NAC. I use it and highly recommend it

When pursuing alternative medicine, make sure that they test you to see what you are actually lacking. It should be a genetic test or some kind of blood draw. Then they can see what your body needs help producing, and they should talk you through which supplement does what. Like with medication, the process takes time. It's trial and error to find what works for your personal case.
