I'm currently on amitriptyline 3 years now, I take 40mg and I take it for headaches, nerve pain and sleep, sometimes taking it gives me headaches, which doesnt make sense to me lol but it has that down as a side effect, it's okay I suppose, haven't had too much problems with it

I was on 30 mg of Amitriptyline to help with sleep. It was working very well. I had just turned 66 and I got a call from a pharmacy where I had my Rx filled. He scared me because he was saying Amitriptyline caused mental confusion in older adults. He sounded like this was urgent, so I stopped taking it and am not sleeping well again. However, not sleeping isn’t good either. My pain MD started me on nortriptyline, so I’m not sure I’m any better off, and I’m still not sleeping 🤷‍♀️

Lifeismid- An admission to a mental health center. Might start out scary, but it’s generally a pretty quiet place. The hardest part is the very limited visiting hours. The best part is you can learn a lot from the group work as well as meetings with your therapists.

i am prescribed 3x 10mg of amitriptyline for migraines but only take 10mg when needed as it makes me so sleepy that i can’t wake up to my alarms in the morning or end up sleeping 12+ hours. so i have to be very careful when i take it but it does help me with my migraine.

When i went on and off it i had severe mood swings completely unlike me. I had severe tiredness falling asleep at college all the time whenever i did not want to. It may have helped but it was not worth the side effects. I also had topiromate which seemed to help the most.

I have in the past....then migraines stopped after I got pregnant. Now, I rarely have one.... My experience, as far as I can remember, was a good one. But had much more success with midrin....

Amitriptyline is my best friend. It’s saved my body from nerve pain and it’s decreased my migraines and seizures. It does make me much more drowsy but it’s so worth it.

I take it and it has been helping me, I thought it wasn’t so I tried stopping it and found out it helps way more than I was thinking lol. I’m not a huge fan of the weight gain but I still think it is more than worth it.
