Anxiety after Naps: Any Tips?

I take naps when I get home from work. My anxiety has been out of control for about a month now, but it is especially bad when I wake up from these naps, like full on panic. Has anyone had this? any way to prevent feeling this way? I do have a psychiatrist appointment next week, so hoping that medication will help, but looking for something else for this week.

Are you anxious from your work environment? What helps me is breathing techniques, I also like to get outside and run, or whatever you can do that makes you happy. Sounds like you're being overwhelmed at work. Figure out a way to ease your workload if possible, or try a different position if possible.

I nap a lot due to nightmares during my normal sleep and a lot of fatigue, and I always feel anxious when I wake up from naps. For me I think it stems from this feeling of being unproductive and wasting time. One thing my therapist said that helped a lot was that napping is actually productive. It’s time in your day when you are taking care of yourself and listening to your body. Thinking of it as a conscious form of self-care rather than a waste of time has been very helpful for me!
