Dealing with anxiety after a near-accident while driving

Had an anxiety attack while driving. Driving is already a hard thing for me it took a lot for me to learn how to drive and now I am able to drive without any fear except big trucks driving by. still working on that one. Anyway today I almost got into an accident which was not at all my fault but it jostled me. How do I sit back after the wheel after this without fear. For those who want to know how I almost got into an accident this is what happened. im sitting behind a train track. we sit behind the track because this is a used track it is dangerous to be on it waiting for the light at the intersection in front of the track. The car behind me gets mad I assume that I am not closer to the vehicles in front of me and zooms past while I am starting to drive because the light turns green. the car got fast enough to get in front of me but it was scary I could have hit them they could have hit me all because they didn't like i was being safe and not waiting on the tracks but behind them.

I share similar fears to you when driving. I hate it when big trucks drive past me. Some things I do the next time driving after something that scared me is to avoid busy streets and have some cool air blowing around the car along with playing music that I really like to help keep me calm and focused.

Honestly... when you're driving it's the other people you have to look out for! I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience due to someone else's recklessness. What helped for me was getting a dashcam, so at least if anything happens I'll have proof I drive carefully. Also having stickers on your car like the "smile you're on camera" ones may deter people from driving erratically around you. For calming your anxiety I'd also recommend listening to some music you like whilst driving. You could also research any routes before setting off, especially as they can show live traffic and road closures etc which may make you anxious if you're unaware beforehand.
