Dealing with Anxiety When Eating

does anywhere get real bad anxiety when it comes to food? I had went throw a really bad downfall in life last year which cause me to lost my appetite completely. due to this I get really anxious when given a plate full of food. even when it's like a small kid size serving I get anxious to even eat or finish it. is there is way for me to actually eat with having a small anxiety attack?

This is an interesting question. Is it eating disorder related, like with shame and body- image? I have experience with that, myself. Also, besides that, i went through a really bad, traumatic time in my life and totally lost my appetite too. I got lots of stomach pain and nausea along with it. I finally realized i liked salads (they didnt make me sick), and thats all i ate for a while there. Maybe youd like small puddings or jellos. Maybe a sandwich (sometimes i make a bunch and put them inbindividual baggies to grab later). Food like that feels less overwhelming to me. You can just grab it and its not a big commitment. Whatever it is thats going on, I'm rooting for you and wish you the best ❤️

I have tried small pudding and jello but just eating overwhelms me. I don't know if it's an eating disorder cause I don't have shame or body image. It's just any food just makes me feel anxious. Cause so far my bf has finally got me eating like five dinosaurs nuggets when I use to just live on water or drinks.

Im glad you have someone looking out for you. Perhaps talking to a professional would be best. Your case seems serious but hard to identify the cause. My therapist helps me a lot. Maybe one will help you get what you need.

If meals feel overwhelming or too much try eating very small snacks as much as you can throughout the day a couple apple slices here and a cookie there will at least make sure you have nutrients in your belly

Definitely. Big meals freak me out. Especially when they're in public. I very much prefer small (nutritious) snacks throughout the day. And sometimes that's still frightening.
