Should I Get Officially Diagnosed with ASD at 22?

I’ve been unofficially diagnosed with ASD l, however my current mental health providers do not offer testing. Is it worth going through all of the testing for an official diagnosis at 22?

That’s something you’ll really have to answer for yourself. Are there accommodations for work or school that would benefit you that an official diagnosis would give you access to? What would the cost of the testing be? Both in a financial and mental sense. Would a diagnosis make you feel more comfortable with yourself? I’d take things like that into consideration. For some insight I’ve chosen not to bother with a professional diagnosis. I’m AFAB, queer, Black, and an adult so my chances of a professional diagnosis are slim to none. I’ve done my research and shared experiences and I’ve grown comfortable in my self diagnosis.
