Struggling with Asthma Flare and Costochondritis Pain

I managed to give myself costochondritis (chest wall pain) having an asthma flare for the last 3 months. my inhalers only help so much. I need to stop coughing to heal but have no idea how. any advice?

Do you take cough syrup, like robitussin? It has dextromethorphan and guaifenesin, which help with coughing. Did you get any oral steroids like Prednisone? That may help too!
