It depends where you are. In the UK you talk to your GP an if they agree you sent off a short questionaire then you get contacted by your local autism an possibly ADHD center from the NHS if they consider you need evaluating. At the moment I'm having video calls but they are months inbetween an I mean many months.

I would talk to your doctor, whether it be a general physician or psychiatrist or something, and see if you can get tested and get a diagnosis for autism.

Contact colleges near you as well as psychologists for testing. Some psychologists are really nice and will set up a payment plan. There are a lot of people in the US that are also looking for diagnosis so there are more than likely queues. Best of luck to you and I hope you get the closure you need!

I’d recommend talking to your PCP or psychiatrist about getting a referral (that’s what I did) then you will probably have to call different places to check your insurance coverage and get put on a long waiting list.

side note but I misread your comment as saying ‘i recommend taking PCP’, thought that was a bit of a leap hahah

I've spoken to my doctor about it many times and they not once mentioned about being sent off to do test's. I was told I'm on the spectrum in a psychology report but doctor's refuse to uphold the outcome. Despite telling them I'm struggling all the time and wanting to see a specialist, the specialist just offer's me DBT and not mention any tests.

I'm so worried that's gonna happen to me. Nobody believes me when I tell them I'm struggling but they also don't understand that I've been masking my entire life. Le sigh
