Diagnosed with A.S. and ADHD - Looking for Others with Similar Experiences

Hi, I was diagnosed a week ago with A.S. and diagnosed a few days ago with ADHD. It's such a relief to know what I'm fighting. Does anyone else have an autoimmune disorder and mental disorder? My primary care said it's common.

Yes. I was diagnosed with AS in 1984 and finally diagnosed with ADHD when I was in my 40's. But I think that I have had ADHD all my life.😥

Hey, I have AS without ADHD. Also, your should know that ADHD is considered a neurological disorder and not a mental one.

Hey there! So I haven’t been officially diagnosed with AS yet, but my neurologist highly suspects it, and I’m seeing a new rheumatologist to help confirm it. But I also have depression, anxiety, and my psychiatrist believes I have ADHD as well. I’m 31, and it’s taken me years to get my fibromyalgia diagnosis, and my mental health has always been a struggle for me. It definitely seems like AS is tied in with depression and anxiety. I’m here to support you!

And it’s definitely a relief to have a diagnosis! I’m still fighting for the bigger picture for myself, but I know how hard that can be
