I retired a few years ago and took up my hobby. Art. Had to give that up because of macular degeneration. But all ways make sure you have a few tasks to do, daily.

I worked. I had chemo and a tandem transplant in 2017. I’m a consultant and I travel. My docs would not let me travel for 6 months but could after that with an N95. I was tired and had to gain back strength but it helped me to keep as much of my routine as possible.

As others have written, because the treatments cause you to be susceptible to infections, I would probably stay away from the school, and try to find a way to continue working remotely, even if it is part-time if you're financially capable of doing so...
