Looking for Bipolar Med Recommendations

Does anyone have recommendations of a bipolar med that doesnt make you constantly hungry? I tried 10mg of zyprexa and didnt like that side effect

So far lamictal has treated me well. I’ve been on it for 4 years now, and the side effects were strange at first (nausea, headache, and weird dreams) but they mostly went away after the first 6 months. I did gain about 20 pounds but that also might just be the freshman 15 because I started it soon after I graduated high school. That’s just what has worked for me, but you could definitely try bringing it up to the dr!

Interesting I never had that happen with Xypraxa — but Seroquil did make me sleepy and want snacks (extra bad bc eating before bed causes nausea for me)

Lamictal hasn’t had that side effect, but I find mood stabilizers like lamictal don’t act the same way as antipsychotics. For me a combination of both has been most helpful.

my mood swings arent bad at all so im wondering if I need an antipsychotic at this point in my life, its so hard to decide with my mood swingss

maybe a lower dose of the zyprexa can be helpful for me
