Yes, it is. If you're feeling the whole spectrum of emotions throughout the day then it's Borderline Personality Disorder, not Bipolar.

It's possible for a person with bipolar disorder to have rapid mood fluctuations within a day, even within hours. It's just not as common. It's called ultradian cycling. It and BPD can be easily confused. Quickly switching moods can also be attributed to a mixed mood. I have been energized, excited, paranoid, upset, angry and anxious, all within a day. It was very confusing and I learned those types of mood swings are a mixed mood. This was a new symptom of my bipolar that started in my 30s. It was a change and progression of my disorder that I had to learn to recognize and deal with. If you'd like to talk more about this or about anything else, please let me know! 😁
