Hi, nice to see someone else with type 2. We take all the same meds, too (quetiapine, fluoxetine and lamotrigine). Do you find that these are working well?

Oh I take different meds, not sure why it showed different. My bf takes fluoxetine for his bipolar and finds it works well, really helped with school and concentration this last semester. I take Vraylar for the bipolar and it helped greatly with anger outbursts and the mood swings I was having, but it's a newer med. I take Bupropion for depression and it helps but sometimes seems to cause hypomanic episodes. But it's been manageable. They might try me on lamotrigne or depakote when I go to my next appointment if she thinks I need it.

If you guys don't mind me asking, what are your hypomanic episodes like? Mine are very mild, I am so much more prone to depression.

I haven't had one in a while. They're usually quite short. I feel like I can get my life together when I'm having one though. I make plans and charts and set goals and clean and organize things. It used to be the only time I could get the dishes and laundry done myself. And when my agoraphobia sets in, the hypomanic episodes allowed me to venture out of the house and do the things. I'm much more often in a depressive episode though, they don't happen as much since I started medication.

bp2 and i’m a lot more prone to depression too. but when i’m hypomanic i usually feel really good, like i’m able to keep on top of my responsibilities and actually enjoy things. but they always end with me having a terrible emotional outburst that sometimes leads to hospitalization, and then being thrown back into a depressive episode.
