Struggling with Bladder Control in Public

Has anyone else had an issues with holding your bladder in public with the fear of not making it to the restroom or constantly having to know where a restroom is at all times? I know it seems kind of odd but I’ve really been trying to figure out why this happens.

Anxiety can make it so people have to go to the bathroom more because their body is so stressed. Hope this helps

YES! THIS! HellOOOOOO ADHD! It's like this viciousss negative feedback loop of Exec Fcn failure: urinate before full ADHD: task mismanaged EF failure: URINE EMERGENCY (drumrofl) ADHD: priority mismanaged, 911 is urgent so PFC shut-down when attempting to begin an important task, and further procrastination occurs EF failure: DOING THIS REGULARLY GIVES YOU CANCER ADHD alexithymia: I can't feel my bladder anymore, do I have to pee still? Maybe that wasnt—*bling*😲Shiny! EF failure: lit'raly gonna burst, d00d ADHD: now that I've decided on another task to do instead of pee, PFC shut-down when beginning a task & priority shuffled to... PEE! NOW! HOLYMOTHEROFTHELORDBABYJESUSHHH**†**IHAVETOPEEGETOUTOFMYWAYNOWMOVELETSGOOOOO

Gosh yeah, I'm glad I'm not alone in that. I kind of attribute mine to the fact that when I was young the only way out of a situation that was giving me a panic attack was to go to the bathroom, and so I thought my brain just kind of started attributing anxiety with being to pee. Now I'm thinking it's more just ADHD. Who knows though.

@Reya—Sounds like it could be both! PTSD and anxiety trigger the sympathetic nervous system, which induces shallow breathing and increased heart rate, GI stress, etc. "Fight flight or freeze"... It would make sense that this would trigger needing to pee, apex predators usually have special adaptations for tracking urine because it's basically liquid fear..
