Need advice on bladder port surgery

Ok so I just recently went to my clinic with all of my specialists and they want to help me with my bladder issues and I’ve tried self catheterizing myself in the past and now they’re offering me a port surgery to cath through my bellybutton area. Does anyone have this procedure and can you tell me the pros and cons of it?

Can you help? Connect today

Personally, I had a very bad experience with the surgery. My stomach leaked constantly, even worse than the usual bladder leaks. I also developed a diverticuli in my bladder, basically a balloon that was nearly the size of my bladder that formed in the tract from my belly button to my bladder. Although I was a unique case, as they were unable to use my appendix tissue and had to use bowel tissue, which stretches more easily. One day, the tract closed up and I had to have emergency surgery to fix it before the urine went to my kidneys.
