In anxiety the thing that helps me the most to just “extinguish the fire” are benzo drugs

Will the zoloft help my anxiety? Have you ever experienced dissociation

I took zoloft and it made me more irritable toward my husband and kids, I couldn't sleep and my anxiety went through the roof

Take some time to sit by yourself in a well-lit room. List 5 things you can see, 5 things you can hear, and 5 things you can touch. Drink a glass of water, it will lower your heart rate. Remember, you are safe, you are loved, and you are not alone!!

When I feel like I can't control my anxiety with breathing, grounding techniques, and self talk I also (like Tomato) take benzo drugs - my doctor prescribed me lorazepam for these anxiety attacks

So, like Ontheedge_mama said, maybe zoloft isn't for you. I like what Sabrina was saying about the 5, I used it with my younger sibling and they calmed down so fast it was almost unreal.

I hope you feel better soon, there are some apps I use to calm myself down like anxiety apps that have things you can distract yourself with or do breathing excuses, I know that doesn't cure anxiety or anything but it may help a little to relieve the anxiousness:(( ❤️

I second the benzo suggestion. Antidepressants just kind of help with acute anxiety, typically need an anxiety specific drug, especially for panic attacks. The antidepressants just help with maintenance.
