I think the cool thing about it is that it's personalized to your own immune system, which means it can be super effective in fighting the cancer cells. But it's got its ups and downs. On the upside, I saw it can lead to some really good responses in terms of medical outcome, even in patients who haven't had success with other treatments, but on the downside, it can cause some pretty intense side effects, like cytokine release syndrome, which can make you feel pretty lousy (fatigue, flu-like symptoms and more). Plus, it's still new, so doctors are still learning about how best to use it and who it works best for. For me it was not relevant, but it's definitely something patients today should talk with their doctor about and weigh the pros and cons together before deciding if it's the right thing for them.
