Have a chat with a medical professional to work on a middle ground maybe. Radical acceptance (do google it) helps in dialectical understanding and finding a way forward. There might be other roles like being a coach mentor to those with less mobility challenges. For me acceptance helps I know I stumble but have areas to grow from. I understand a lot of athletes develop arthritis later in their career and other injuries with surgeries many do well in evolving themselves into mentoring, coaching, branding, books, interviews, training programmes. The David Beckhams of the world retire from soccer but remain idols and redefined even if players can do it there is inspiration (the wrestling, hockey, American football, rugby, soccer, volleyball champs can do it so can I)
