Need advice for managing chronic illness flare up

I’m going through a bad flare up and different diet changes I’ve made haven’t been effected. Any recommendations?

What type of diet changes have you tried?

Cutting diary and gluten, coffee, switching to gluten-free foods and vegan options

Are you eating high fiber?

No. I read high fiber is bad during a flare.

High fiber is bad period. I’d stay away from vegetables mostly unless you cook them until they’re really soft

I went vegan and permanently damaged my stomach so now I literally can’t digest it

Good to know. I eat more fruits than vegetables anyway. I’m not even trying to go vegan. Mostly gluten and dairy free as best as I can.

Are you on any medicine? What triggered your flare?

if you eat a lot of fruit be careful with seeds and skins!

Try adding probiotics and prebiotics to your diet. They’ve helped me a lot. I had the same diet changes but I notice probiotics and prebiotics helped a lot in getting me back into remission (whenever I remember to take them consistently). I take VSL #3. But I’m gonna try Visibiome they’re both expensive but Visibiome is a little cheaper. I also try to cut out sugar and foods that are high in acid.

Idk if you are eating any egg but try to cut that out? I really thought I could tolerate eggs fine but cutting them out made a huge difference

also idk what vegan options you’re eating but watch out for anything physically rough (nuts, seeds, vegetable/fruit skins) and i’ve heard nutritional yeast is AWFUL for UC but i haven’t tried it myself

I tried a lot of diets and alternative treatments that didn’t work. I’m doing a carnivore style diet prescribed by a clinic in Europe to treat IBD. In remission and off of meds for 2 years now
