Be consistant about what you need which is more testing. If you need a referal tell them want one.

Chronic pain is hard to get diagnosed but try finding the correct specialist for where your pain is. Mine for example is my lowback from my lumbar disks rupturing so I got an mri and went to a neurologist because spine. If yours is a joint thing try a rheumatologist etc.

Definitely ask for referral to a specialist if your chronic pain is not being treated! And like other people said, asking for more tests to determine what exactly is going on in the specific areas you have pain is invaluable.

I've been through this... one thing is to stand up for yourself, ask as many questions as you need to and write everything down. If you feel you aren't being heard ask them to explore further and note you asked. Also ask them to note that you wanted something done, especially if they have refused to.

I had a Dr appt Thursday where she explained to me that since I didn't have the self advocacy skills at the time of my annual last year, anything said was moot and wouldn't be added to my record. It's extremely important that the progression of symptoms be documented for my condition. I learned a valuable lesson about standing up and advocating for yourself at THAT visit. Sometimes Dr won't let you sit and think on it at home so you sit and think on it right there in their office until you're ready

I’m the same way! They always say I’m fine, I’ve been diagnosed w hyperthyroidism but then when I sent the blood in, everything came out negative. It’s extremely stressful and I hope you can find the answers.

Try to document all of your pain! Even things you eat, do, as much data as you can. Good luck!! Sending love
