Coffee doesn't work on me, is it an ADHD thing?

Ok so coffee doesn’t work on me (doesn’t make me feel more awake or energized). I remember as a kid being able to drink like 10 expresó shots and I still felt nothing, i’m still the same way. So does anyone else with add/adhd have this same issue?

Can you help? Connect today

YES! That’s very normal for adhd! My mom would give me stuff with caffeine when I was a kid to calm me down, usually it changes after puberty but it can sometimes stay the same!

It's the same for me too. Sometimes I'll drink a cup of coffee before bed 😂

My mom and I both struggle to finish a cup of coffee because I swear to God caffeine is just a sedative to my body. Benadryl, on the other hand, keeps us awake for days. This is apparently very common in ADHD, which definitely tracks with my family history

for me it’s kind of on and off. I feel like recently, coffee hasn’t been working at all… so maybe I need something stronger? or who knows maybe it’s because I’m so sleep deprived haha. but yeah a lot of people with adhd apparently don’t get the coffee buzz.
