Need Tips for Colonoscopy Prep

Colonoscopy. I had an appointment for a colonoscopy/ endoscopy on Feb 7 this year, but I had to reschedule because the Dulcolax part of the prep made me throw up; I wasn’t even able to start the Miralax part of the prep. Does anyone have any tips for how to get through the prep, and what to drink? Thank you!

Get suprep! I’ve had multiple colonoscopies and this is my favorite! It’s hard to explain because it doesn’t taste bad it’s just really sour? It’s hard to swallow, but if you just chug as much as you can in your first go your covered! It’s way less prep work then any other because it’s concentrated and mixed with water. It’s the equivalent of only two cups! Plus I’ve drunken only 1/4 of 1 cup and it still cleared me out. Highly recommend!!

I’ve also had serious complications with some of the preps and had to reschedule. Not fun. This one has never failed me.

Seconding Zofran for nausea. I've also found Miralax is much easier on the upper end of my gut compared to most other laxatives, so you might also find the Miralax part of the cleanse is easier on you if you get that far, for what it's worth. Very little in terms of cramping, mostly just feels like you got a second bladder and urethra when you go to the bathroom in my experience lol

Hi, everyone!! I was able to have a successful colonoscopy/egd this past Tuesday!! 🎉🎶💖 The Dulcolax was by far and wide the most challenging part if the prep, and the Zofran helped me get through it. Once I was on the Miralax part, it was much easier. Thank you all so much for your help!! Really appreciated! 🙏🏼💖
