I set a timer for the time I need to start getting ready at. Knowing the timer will tell me when and that I won’t forget about it gives me comfort not to focus on ‘the thing’ too much

Music is an emotional stimulant for me. I skip a lot of songs half way through them but it helps.

Hey! I struggle with this too, but if there are any chores that need doing, I'll do that. One year I had to work on Christmas Day. Almost as soon as everyone was done opening presents, I had to get ready for work.
