Struggling with Constipation, Anxiety, and Possible Autism

Hi I’ve been struggling with constipation and anxiety for many years, as long as I can remember basically. And recently I’ve pulled myself out of denial and I’ve accepted that I may be autistic. When I aggressively treat my constipation, my anxiety gets worse, which makes me think my subconscious makes me constipated on purpose. I took the RADS test and got a score of 113, what does this mean?

RAADS score over 65 generally mean you could be autistic, who gave you the test? Do you have a follow up appointment? Have you seen a gastrointestinal provider, have you been tested for irritable bowel syndrome? I think you should talk to your doctor . I forget to ask questions and what ive been told, i take a sister with me to appointments , and take a notebook with questions i want to ask written down ahead of time so i dont forget what to ask.

You should definitely talk to your doctor about possible IBS as it’s basically the stomach issue triggered by all the emotional aspects like anxiety or stress.

I'm diagnosed with both IBS and anxiety, and yes, they do tend to go hand in hand. Long term, working on treating that anxiety is gonna help so much. As for short term relief, making sure you're stocked on over the counter meds to help, and drinking plenty of water can help. I also like ginger for stomach issues, either in a tea or eaten straight up. Best of luck!
