Haven't tried contrave but I have been on buproprion for depression. Helped me stop smoking. Didn't help my depression. Regular pills made me irritable when it wore off so they had me taking 450mg XR. I felt it was way to stimulating. I've taken suboxen which has naltrexone and I don't understand how this combination of medicines would help with weight loss. Just my opinion. Contrave isn't an option for me. I took Meridian years ago it worked but years later was recalled.

I am currently on buproprion and naltrexone which make up contrave. I took the buproprion alone for the first two weeks to make sure I had no side effects. I combined it with a small dose of naltrexone and the maltreatment gave me GI issues but I stuck through it for two weeks. I recently had my dose increased after 2 moths and I have lost a few pounds. Last week was the first time I noticed that I could no finish everything on my plate. I have other issues too, but I have no idea if it's related to the meds or not. I have more nausea than what I used to. I was also diagnosed with Asthma but that is a separate issue, I just can't tell what is making me feel a certain way at a given time.
