Covid Recovery: Struggling with Anxiety and Brain Fog

After having Covid, and, trying to recover, I experienced the worst gripping anxiety and panic for no reason after I had supposedly gotten better. Is anyone else struggling with the severe anxiety and brain fog as bad, and, what are your experiences with it?

Yes! I had mild (untreated) anxiety before… now 5 weeks after I got COVID I’m basically bedridden with anxiety.

me too! I can’t seem to get any decent explanation and I’ve had many tests done. One thing I would ask is how is your inflammation in your body? Are you considered healthy normally? I was suffering from anxiety as well, but, after Covid, I have had crippling depression/anxiety amplified to the 10th degree. Please let me know how things go with you, maybe we can help each other along if one of us can get an answer.

I feel like this long Covid was designed to drive the nervous system insane and make you feel crazy. I haven’t had a full normal day in almost 4 months

You are not alone I have had Covid twice so far since 2020 and the anxiety is crippling but I also have many other Long Covid symptoms including tachycardia and heart inflammation, numbness in arms and legs, shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness and fainting etc. which I think also make my anxiety worse. So far resting and using ice packs is the only thing that helps me which is difficult and can barely work:( hang in there and hopefully we get some answers soon

actually the anxiety uptake with all the inflammation is the most terrifying thing for my already existing anxiety. I’m sorry you’re going through the same thing and yes hopefully we get answers. Keep in touch if you hear anything and I will do the same. Hang in there

Got Covid dec 29th 2021, worst anxiety of my life. I was on 450mg of Wellbutrin before getting Covid and they had to pull me off of it. I had to go on a low histamine diet. I never knew anxiety could be so bad. I now take 300mg gabapentin and 25mg hydroxyzine daily. My anxiety now is mostly controlled. I have to struggle to keep hopeful about recovery and stop thinking about not having a future. I have to make sure my nutrition is on point and that I am not taking anything that makes my anxiety worse.

that sounds similar to my situation, it seems. I have a very high issue with most foods and I can’t have sugar. If I eat any sort of bread, grease, or sugar, my anxiety becomes uncontrollable and the doctor which isn’t very helpful says I’m fine but I know I’m not because I literally feel like jumping out of my own skin with anxiety since Covid…..I’m now also experiencing black outs on my feet and intense sensory overload when I’m not medicated…..I have to take my anxiety meds or I can’t function whatsoever……what’s your diet like since you found the food issues?
