Can CPTSD Cause Loss of Interest and Joy?

Can CPTSD cause loss of interest and joy? We've been becoming more joyless and not as interested in our normal hobbies it feels like there's no point in doing them but we've only picked up reading which is more of a distraction from certain things. We also have complex trauma but feel more detached from it as if there's not enough emotional attachment to the traumas but then we also get triggered which doesn't make sense.

I think I’m the clinical literature this is a common symptom, but also have noticed it in my own experiences and what my friends have said. For me I think I just lose interest in existing because it just kinda piles up and it all feels Sisyphisian at a certain point. I try to fight it and keep reminding myself that I do enjoy things, but some days are harder than others

Try to pinpoint what triggers you and keep a log of that. Try to avoid those triggers and if you can't, find a coping mechanism that works for you (for myself I keep a crystal in my pocket and when I get triggered I ask the stone to take all the trauma from me) in that moment. Yes you'll lose interest and it's hard to keep wanting to pursue the things you love but push yourself to do it anyways and do it with a smile. Remember why you love doing what you're doing. Manifest the good ♥️

Ptsd is basically married to depression of some sort so yes. Doesn't always mean depression disorder cause it could be just a symptoms but yes that is a major sign of depression that comes from ptsd

Here are some basics to help Keep your area lit well If your area is messy each day pick what bothers you most about the mess and deal with just that Read a self help book on ptsd I recommend a book called traumatized (Not all at once read til you feel content or something comes up that takes you away from reading) Do bare minimum things that have to do with your interest at least once a day. Like I have a hard time getting back into art but I can always scribble or doodle or finger paint nothing in particular on canvas. This habit will slowly reawaken your interest when accompanied by the others. Other than that it's try to eat at least one soothing food a day. The more comfortable you can get making small changes the more progress you'll see
