Dealing with Anxiety and Work Stress

so my anxiety is high tonight.. my husband is taking his CDL test next Wednesday and then I feel terrible because I didn't want to trade someone a shift putting me at 5 12's in a row (I'm a CNA). I take atarax and Prozac but I'm just so emotional and jittery right now.. what can I do.?

Can you help? Connect today

hey I'd take some deep breaths, write down what is making you anxious and remember that your anxiety will pass. maybe talk to your Dr and see if they can put you on something like vistareal just to help you get through this

if you don't have a therapist maybe consider looking into finding someone that isn't family or friends that can help you learn better coping skills and how to properly manage your stress and anxiety. I've learned that they are connected and once you learn ways to cope and bring your anxiety down the easier it becomes to stop it before you get to your breaking point

I'm afraid to open up to a therapist. I won't lie, it took me forever to open up to my doctor about the feeling of anxiety and being depressed. I currently take medications that do help but once I get going it's hard to stop and ground myself. How would you go about finding a therapist?

Well you are doing 5, 12 hour shifts. Some amount of stress is normal, however, you seem to be going through a lot on top of that tonight. I would say try and do your best when you are off work, to just desensitize, do nothing, take a bath, drink some hot chocolate or tea, sldo something like coloring or watching an unstressful dumb show. That's not always possible but take sometime when you can and just be. And when you are working, say to yourself I am doing the best I can in these circumstances. Whatever you are feeling right now is terrible and those feelings are valid, but they will pass❤️🤗

It took me awhile to find a therapist I truly liked and felt comfortable. alot of therapist will do a free consultation so you can see if you are a good fit. my therapist told me on my consultation that it's OK if we dont work out and are not right for each other that finding a therapist is like going shopping for shoes you may have to try on a few pair to get the perfect fit. now on finding a therapist you can google therapist near me and just look at the reviews and the websites and alot of them will have there team listed with a bio on them and what they specialize in. if you find one your interested in just give their office a call and see if they are Taking new patients and what insurance they cover and if they do a in person or over the consultation.
