Dealing with Anxiety in Crowded Places

Hello everyone I need some advice. I am getting ready to go to Ocean City with some friends and I am already feeling super anxious. Why? well the friend who I am going with told me that this weekend is Spring Fest and that means CROWDS (SCARY) 😲 I don't want to cancel on her because she paid for the hotel room and said I only need to bring some spending money and I don't want to spend the whole weekend just staying in the room because that would be rude. So any and all thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated T.I.A

inform them how you’re feeling if you can and then if u guys go and you get anxious/need to leave to find somewhere quieter you will be able to without them worrying or thinking you’re being rude!! loads of people get anxious with crowds and busy places so im sure they’ll understand and want you to be as comfortable as possible :)

Do you have access to noise canceling earmuffs? Headphones work, too, but earmuffs still allow you to hear the voices of people near you, depending on your hearing. Maybe do some meditation when you can to try to process why crowds scare you? That's been helpful to me. Though having a friend has also been helpful to me when going grocery shopping and the like. Other than that, if you have a psych provider, I'd ask them if they have any suggestions wrt your meds. Good luck!

Definitely. Communication is key in your situation and it may improve relationships with everyone else you have to deal with as well.
