Dealing with Bad Menstrual Cramps

I've been wanting to know some solutions to bad cramps. When my period comes along I can't even get out of bed, ibuprofen doesn't help. Is there anything I can do to manage the pain?

Have you tried a TENS machine? Also, I take a combination of Tylenol and ibuprofen, sometimes I need both.

I stop drinking coffee and switch to energy drinks and drink more water. Coffee makes it worse for me. You can switch tylenol and ibuprofen every 2 hours and it helps keep it at a lower level. But I did take the depo shot for the pain and that worked well

“Dong quai” is an herbal supplement that has helped me immensely. It helps with dysmenorrhea and to balance hormones. I take it 2 weeks up until my period once daily and then 2x daily the week of my period and then I stop taking it for a couple of weeks. It took a couple of cycles for it to really kick in but it has lessened my cramps immensely. Sometimes all I need is a few ibuprofen/Tylenol to top it off but for the most part it has helped me so much. I recommend doing some research on it to see if it’s the right fit but I’m so grateful I found this supplement. Good luck:)
