Dealing with Chronic Illness: Seeking Advice

Hi Alikes! You can call me GFAF! I’m going through the HI and MCAS diagnosis process now, but have all the symptoms of both disorders. I’m feeling pretty scared at the moment that I’ll never feel healthy again. Have any of you gone from feeling miserable to feeling healthy? I must know your secrets!

Can you help? Connect today

Hi! I have a clinical diagnosis of mcas. I can say that I'm feeling better than I did a year ago but I'm not entirely better. I was miserable and now I'm able to get out the house and do more activities. That's a win. My meds are helping me a lot.

I am also a tough case as I am allergic to all regular anesthetics and lots of random stuff. I am trying to control my environment and body best I can. Just got a dr that can actually help. We started montelukast (singulair) a few days ago, seems to be okay.

There is hope! I have a complicated form of mcas with other coexisting conditions. I have quite a few other diseases alongside my mcas so healthy is definitely a strong word for me (I’m far from it lol) but with a lot of experimental medications after my diagnosis just my mcas is now very well controlled. It can rear its ugly head every now and then for sure, but I went from having anaphylactic reactions a couple times a week and feeling like their were fire ants under my skin 24/7 to having hives and reactions much more occasionally. It was a very long road for me, but don’t give up. It is definitely possible. Here for any questions (:
